Your books never leave your computer.
iAccounting is offline-first — your accounting data lives on your own machine, not our servers. Here's exactly what runs where, and how the few features that touch the internet are kept safe.
On your PC — not our servers
Books stored locally
Your accounting data is written to your own Windows PC and works fully offline. It doesn't sit on our servers.
No cloud upload of your books
On the desktop editions your accounting data is never uploaded to the cloud. Only the metered features reach the internet, for their specific action.
Your own backups, on your terms
You control your backups — where they go and how often. Your data stays under your roof.
Human-in-the-loop AI
Nothing posts without your approval
The AI drafts entries; you review and post. It never commits to your books on its own.
Autonomous work vs. actions that need your nod
Clear separation between the morning's autonomous work — audit, reconcile, draft — and actions that need your approval, like posting recurring entries or sending reminders.
Full audit trail
A complete record of what the AI did and when, so nothing happens to your books without a trace.
How the metered features stay safe
- AI & GST need internet only for those specific actions — the rest of the app runs offline.
- GST portal access uses a session / OTP you control — we never store your portal password.
- GSP (e-invoice / e-Way) and payment-gateway credentials sit behind our server, never on your device — that's how the wallet is designed.
- Wallet balances shown in the app are display-only caches; the server is authoritative.
Updates & activation
Internet used sparingly
The only things that reach the internet are activation, updates and the prepaid wallet — never your books.
Auto-updates
The app keeps itself current automatically, so you're always on the latest secure build.
No .NET setup
The runtime is bundled — nothing extra to install, fewer moving parts on your machine.
Security & privacy, answered
Is my accounting data sent to your servers?
No. On the desktop editions your books are stored on your own PC, not on our servers. Internet is only used for activation, updates and the metered AI and GST features.
What does the AI send?
Only the specific instruction or document needed for that particular action, sent over HTTPS. Your whole ledger is never uploaded.
Can staff be restricted?
Yes. The Network edition includes staff approval and access controls, so you decide who can post, send and view.
Do you store my GST portal password?
No. GST portal access uses a session and OTP that you control — we never store your portal password.
What about the cloud option?
The optional cloud edition is hosted on AWS by design, for people who want anywhere-access. The desktop editions keep everything local on your own machine.
Try it — your data stays yours
